The little girl had been good all year.

Even in October when they took her to the “haunted house,” and it got a little scary.

So the mother asked her friend to write the little girl a letter from Santa.

The woman did and laid it on thick about how wonderful she was.

The mom got the letter, addressed it to the little girl and put a stamp on it.

Unfortunately, as soon as that was done, the little girl started to act up.

Some other children came over and she didn’t seem to appreciate her not getting all of the attention.

She was three.

The kids left and mom and dad took her to the mall to see Santa.

As soon as she got on his lap she told him in no uncertain terms,

“I hate Christmas.”

He shook that off, and asked her “Well, then, what do you want for Christmas?”

She told him, “A chainsaw!”

His jaw fell open.

After they got home and put her to bed, the mom said to the dad, “What do we do now? The letter
to Santa is already sealed.”

Then she said, “Maybe I’ll just write something on the back of the envelope.”

She wrote, “Dear Emma Grace, I was very saddened to hear that you hate Christmas. But I forgive
you, and I hope you will be a better little girl than you were last night.”

Then she signed it “Santa.”

And then below his name, she added:

“P.S. No Chainsaw!”

A Chainsaw Christmas

It’ll be a chainsaw Christmas from the break of dawn

I’ll start with the lights and crap out there on the lawn.

Media Matters, a lefty liberal watchdog, wants our help in picking the most inane political punditry of the year.  It must have been hard to narrow it down, but they have picked ten, and have an online poll.

When federal prosecutor William C. Ibershof tried to put Weatherman William Ayers behind bars 35 years ago, it was his own boss – the Republican attorney general – who brought down the trial and let the accused domestic terrorist go free.

Recently, Mr. Ibershof wrote a letter to the New York Times, saying, as the man who tried to prosecute Ayers, he was “amazed and outraged” that McCain-Palin, the GOP and others were trying to link Ayers with Obama.

However, his story goes beyond that letter.

In 1972, Mr. Ibershof says he was preparing to try Ayers, who was in hiding, and 14 other members of the Weather Underground organization for planning a campaign of domestic terror. Before the trial could begin, defense attorneys complained their offices had been broken into and searched. Then, Mr. Ibershof discovered the government had illegally bugged some of the defendants.

Mr. Ibershof says he wanted to go on with the case. However, the judge ordered a hearing on the break ins and illegal claims. The government dropped the case, citing “national security”.

McCain supporters have denounced Ayers as an “unrepentant terrorist.” Ibershof said he believes people deserve a chance to redeem themselves, “a human reaction anyone would have.”

Oh, I am sure John McCain is “shocked..Shocked I tell you” that the same dirty tricks Republican operative who slurred John Kerry’s wartime record has published some even more incredible and hate-filled lies about Barack Obama.

If he is shocked, why haven’t we heard anything? I mean his campaign has made an art of taking statements made in poor taste, off-color humor, hate speak and other “gaffes”, apologizing to make them go away and having it accepted. At the same time, McCain knows his appeal to the lowest common denominator has worked and the statement will stick with those for whom it was meant.

So, don’t expect Republicans to line up to denounce this filthy collection of lies and bigotry. If they do, they will shedding crocodile tears that someone who supports them could be so vile (and helpful).

Ousted John McCain campaign co-chairman Phil Gramm is back with the campaign’s top advisers this weekend, as the campaign gathers top supporters for a series of briefings in scenic Aspen, Colo.

The former Texas senator stepped down from his position after he said in an interview last month that the country is in a “mental recession” and that we had become a “nation of whiners.”

Gramm was seated in the front row, with other top supporters, this afternoon as McCain addressed the Aspen Institute in a “conversation” with Walter Isaacson, president of the institute and a former editor of Time magazine.

Many of the “progressives” who have not had one nice thing to say about Russert EVER now make “we have had our differences” posts eulogizing him. Let me make it clear I am not condemning each and every person who has posted with heartfelt sympathies.
I am talking about those who turn their “emotions” on a dime for cheap, callous politics. Those who praise Caesar whilst wiping his blood from their knives.
It is to retch. It would be better that they stay silent than soil the landscape with their hollow praise.
The most obscene and Bill O’Reilly like example is one who could naught but spit venom at Russert did the following.

• 1. made a saccharin post about Russert, half absolving him of his “sins”
• 2. recommended his book “Big Russ” as a fitting memorial and Father’s Day gift.
• 3. put Russert’s book on the poster’s amazon.com site to make a few bucks off the hypocrisy and crocodile tears.

Rest in peace, Mr. Russert. I seldom watched, praised or perhaps even appreciated your work. According to your friends, most colleagues and a wall filled with awards, you did all right for yourself.

I never was a supporter, but I was interested i what the campaign was up to. So, I got on the mailing list.
I fear this will not be enough for many of Sen. Barack Obama’s supporters. They will settle for nothing less than shaving Sen. Hillary Clinton’s head and parading her through town as the French did with women “collaborators” once France was liberated from the Nazis.
One major difference here is that, while many of the Obama camp would like to join in on the shaming ritual, they fully expect Sen. Clinton to do it to herself for penance.
Our long national nightmare is not over.

Dallas Air America Radio group has a newsletter with which I used to work. It still is using my work without permission, but copyrights mean nothing to the editor. She also sells ads for the material, most of which is copyrighted from other sources. Anyway, I had the password.

I told you my problem. It is the vulgarity. It is obvious how concerned you really are, as you are throwing it in my face. Your real question, I think is,- “Why are you not towing the line and following party dogma?”

I never made any comment or implied I had any right to dictate your “tone”. However, I mistakenly believed we all were allowed to comment, praise or criticize within the limits of decency (such as they seem to exist) on any and all comments of everyone, including the Supreme Leader. I particularly thought we were allowed to comment on bad jokes.

However, lately, I have perceived a tone that suggests and now proves it is not true. One follows the dogma of the leadership or else one is belittled, ridiculed or simply shouted down.

It seems to have evolved into preaching to the choir and the only allowed response is “Amen!”

Yes, I thought it was an open forum. I would say this shows it is not. I can put up with such crudity on the list. To bring it to my personal account after being informed of my objections is something I do not have to tolerate or overlook.

Mommy Dearest makes a big deal about being so offended that the newsletter was used that way. I think she probably is more upset that she didn’t silence me and a very ugly side of her was displayed to so many.

So, there you have it.

As I understand it, the party line there now is that Randi Rhodes was forced to say those profane things as part of a Hillary Clinton plot, she got loaded and spilled her guts or she wanted out of the Air America contract and did a cheesy stunt to get her free.

At any rate, it is not her fault. It never is.
